Mangalore United Team is now ready For KPL

The 21 member team of the Mangalore United team for the Karnataka Premier League is now ready for the tournament. The team includes four lads from Mangalore region including the hotshot Wicket Keeper Batsman Mohammad Asif and slog batsman Bharat Chipli who is likely to don the captain's mantle.

Four players have been chosen through a reality show held in the city on Sunday. They are Mohammad, Asif, Janardhan, MBS Khan and Rohan Shetty.

The 21 member team includes Bharat Chipli, Arvind.S, Udit Patel, Karan Nayar, Jonathan K. Abdul Khader, Rohit Sabarwal, Asghar Pasha, B.C. Rajesh, Nikhil Haldeep, Umesh Kharvi, Kiran Kumar, Keshav Chitti, K.N. Bharat, Vijay Chauhan, Rohan Shetty, Mohammad Asif, Janardhan and M.B.S.Khan. The last four were chosen from the local Mangalore regional pool of players.

Veteran Ranji player Sanath Kumar has been appointed as coach and Brand Ambassador of the team will be Kannada film artiste Ms. Sindhu.

According to the owner Mr. Mohideen Bawa the final playing 11 will be announced only a day before the match. The tournament for the KPL will begin in Bangalore on 10th of September.

The team was taken in a road show throughout the city of Mangalore and the culminating function was held in Nehru Maidaan, where the teams were given the colours and kits of the team. They will go over to Bangalore for net practice till 9th of September.
